A Note From Marti: April

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As your state representative, my top priorities include engaging the community and ensuring open communication between constituents and my office. I believe that a strong democracy relies on active participation, and I am committed to being accessible to you.

To help facilitate access to information on the critical issues faced by our district and state, I will be hosting a Speaker Series, which will bring subject area experts to you. This series is a vital step in ensuring our community remains informed and actively engaged in decisions that affect us all. We are hosting our first program in the series this month: What You Need to Know About PART (Plan of Action for Regional Transit) which focuses on regional transit in the face of a fiscal cliff.

I recognize that a top priority in our district is property tax reform so I’m excited to have been appointed to the House Property Tax Working Group. We have to take a comprehensive look at our property tax system and I believe it’s critical that we take responsible, meaningful steps forward to provide relief.
