As part of ourongoing commitment to staying connected with the needs of our community, I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with several local organizations within our district during the month of March.
Ray Graham
We stopped by the apartments of several Ray Graham Association (RCA) clients and learned about their work training and independent living experiences. We also talked with administrators about the valuable services RGA provides including recreational, educational, life skills, family support and vocational training services for people with disabilities.
Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital
Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital continues to be a cornerstone of healthcare for our community and is the only level one trauma center in DuPage County. Meeting with the leadership team and touring the facilities helped inform me of their accomplishments, challenges and breadth of services.
People’s Resource Center of Westmont
I toured another community organization dedicated to the residents of DuPage County, People’s Resource Center (PRC) in Westmont. PRC seeks to respond to basic human needs, promote dignity and justice, and create a future of hope and opportunity. They provide a wide range of services, including food assistance, educational programs and emergency rent assistance.
Satellite Office Hours
Our second Satellite Office Hours was at Hinsdale Public Library. These forums are ideal for constituents who have questions or concerns and would like to speak to me directly.
Meals on Wheels
On March 17, we delivered 75 shelf-stable meals for DuPage Senior Citizens Council’s (DSSC) Meals on Wheels program. In addition to providing nutritious meals to seniors, DSSC offers activities, home visits, friendly phone calls and more.
